Last week, South Elementary Teacher Mrs. Porterfield got to attend the Ron Clark Academy in Atlanta, Georgia. This was a professional learning experience provided by the Sonic Foundation and Warsaw Sonic group. The Ron Clark Academy (RCA) is a highly acclaimed, nonprofit middle school. The Academy has received both national and international recognition for its success for creating a loving, dynamic learning environment that promotes academic excellence and fosters leadership. We are celebrating academic growth in our district! 🎉 According to the Evaluate Assessment that is taken monthly to track students’ understanding of the Missouri Learning Standards, we have seen successful growth in the month of November: ✅12% Growth in Mathematics (this includes significant growth in multiple grade levels taking the assessment!) ✅6% English/Language Arts (this includes growth seen in EVERY grade level taking the assessment!) Assistant Superintendent, Mrs. Shannon Deckard, shares, “Big changes start small. We are proud of our students and staff for their dedication to learning.
