The Warsaw R-IX Robotics Team is currently in St. Louis preparing for competitions on Friday and Saturday. Go Wildcats!

The Warsaw Math Team competed at the Cole Camp math relays on February 24, 2023. The seniors competing on Saturday were Abby Dendish, Ashlyn Laue, Logan Schockmann, Anna Siegel, and Ashley Spry. The juniors who competed were Alyson Alcantara, Sarah Gilbert, Lovlie Haidusek, Angela Konopasek, and Hannah Wooldridge. The sophomore mathletes are Ashlyn Adams, Jaxson Deckard, Logan Gemes, Drake Murrell, and Michael Schliefert. Rounding out the team are the freshmen: Jessie Bilderback, Hayley Boly, Henry Breshears, and Wesley Jackson.
The Warsaw Mathletes competed in the Blue Division against the following schools: Lee’s Summit North, Excelsior Springs, Raytown, Smith Cotton, Lebanon, Versailles, Camdenton, and California. Some of these schools have an enrollment six times as big as Warsaw R-IX. The Warsaw team finished in 5th place. They were one point behind the 4th place team and 12 points behind the 3rd place team. It was a close competition.
The following is a list of individual top ten awards: Word Problems 9, Hayley Boly (3rd); Word Problems 10, Drake Murrell (5th), Jaxson Deckard (6th), and Michael Schliefert (10th); Word Problems 12, Logan Schockmann (9th) and Ashlynn Adams (10th); Calculus, Ashlyn Laue (7th); Algebra 9, Hayley Boly (4th) and Wesley Jackson (7th); Algebra 10, Jaxson Deckard (2nd); Algebra 11, Alyson Alcantara (7th); Algebra 12, Ashley Spry (3rd) and Anna Siegel (9th); Algebra Open, Logan Schockmann (10th); Geometry 9, Hayley Boly (7th); Analytic Geometry, Angela Konopasek (3rd), Sarah Gilbert (4th), and Alyson Alcantara (7th); Trigonometry, Ashley Spry (10th); Probability and Statistics, Anna Siegel (1st), Ashlyn Laue (3rd), and Jaxson Deckard (8th); Hodge Podge, Logan Gemes (7th); Random Science, Henry Breshears (2nd) and Wesley Jackson (9th); Random History, Hannah Wooldridge (5th), Logan Schockmann (7th), and Alyson Alcantara (9th); Mental Math (9th-10th) Ashlynn Adams (4th); Mental Math (11th-12th), Ashley Spry (4th).
The freshman team consisting of Jessie Bilderback, Hayley Boly, and Henry Breshears finished in 4th place. Team 10 mathletes Jaxson Deckard, Logan Gemes, Drake Murrell, and Michael Schliefert battled for 4th place. The junior team of Sarah Gilbert, Lovlie Haidusek, Angela Konopasek, and Hannah Wooldridge finished in 9th place. Team 12 consisted of Abby Dendish, Ashlyn Laue, Logan Schockmann, and Ashley Spry ended the day in 6th place. The Mixed Team of Wesley Jackson (9th), Ashlynn Adams (10th), Alyson Alcantara (11th), and Anna Siegel (12th) competed to place 3rd.
In top freshmen, Hayley Boly was 5th. Ashley Spry also finished in 5th place as a top senior.


The WHS Madrigal Choir sang the National Anthem this morning at the 2023 MSHSAA State Wrestling Championship Tournament. They were selected to perform by audition and were honored to be chosen. The Madrigal Choir is under the direction of Mrs. Deanna Schockmann.
