South Elementary 1st graders have spent the last few weeks diving into an ELA unit all about life cycles—exploring how plants, butterflies, and frogs grow and change. Through a blend of nonfiction texts and hands-on activities, students: 🤪Created grass creatures with wild and wacky hairstyles 🦋Built butterfly life cycles using pasta (who knew science could be so delicious?) 🐸Welcomed two tadpoles into the classroom, lovingly named Travis and Taylor This cross-curricular adventure has sparked curiosity, creativity, and a whole lot of smiles. Yesterday morning, our Parents as Teachers Connection group welcomed a special guest—Tammy Culpepper from Missouri Extension! She shared fun and educational insights about the five food groups and how each one helps our bodies stay healthy.
