The Warsaw R-IX Board of Education met May 19, 2026, for its regular monthly meeting.
The meeting began with staff and community recognitions. The recipients included Kylee Lawrence – Classified Staff Member of the Month; Crystal Boyd – Certified Staff Member of the Month; and Josh Reno – Wildcat Pride Award recipient.
Program Spotlight
The Board heard an Athletic and Activities Review presentation from Coach Morgan and Coach Boyer. Each Activities Director provided a breakdown of sports and activities from the 2025–2026 school year, highlighting participation and program updates.
Public Comments
Grace Rich addressed the Board regarding the Athletic Handbook and procedures related to student transportation to athletic events.
Budget & Financial Updates
Superintendent Scott Gemes reviewed the April budget report and year-to-date financials. He also presented a preliminary budget review for the 2026–2027 school year.
Other New Business & Board Approvals
The Board approved the district’s auditing services with Gerding, Korte, and Chitwood CPAs.
The Board approved bids to replace four sets of doors at Warsaw North Elementary School.
The Board tabled the proposed change order for the Middle School Library and Life Skills rooms remodel pending final cost figures from FSG and RCI.
The Board approved moving forward with bids for the concession stand project.
The Board approved the surplus of additional math curriculum materials, including Into Math resources.
Personnel Updates
During closed session, the Board accepted several resignations effective at the end of the 2025–2026 school year and approved several new hires for the 2026–2027 school year in certified and classified positions across the district. The Board also approved the Summer School staff list and the updated extra duty list for the 2026–2027 school year.
