Cleanest School

Cleanest School in the District (2nd quarter)

It is time to announce the "Cleanest School in the District” for the 2nd quarter. Congratulations to the High School for winning the award. Thank you to the students, teachers, administrators, and other staff for helping with the award. Big Thank you and Congrats to Jimmie Burr, Linda Hiserote, and Steve Johnson for their dedication and time in winning the "Cleanest School in the District.”

Jimmie Burr, Linda Hiserote, and Steve Johnson celebrating the win!

 Here were the overall scores:

  • High School        3.12

  • South School         3.06

  • Middle School      3.03

  • North School       2.97

Our overall average for all four buildings was 3.05. This is very impressive. Our school buildings are very clean, and everyone should be very proud. Of course, there is still room for improvement.

Here are some notes from the Facility Progress Report:

High School

  • Very Clean, most improved restroom. Although they don’t have a large quantity of restrooms, they are the most difficult to maintain. Great Job!

  • Floors were clean with great shine.

  • The other areas were also in good shape: Hallways, water fountains, lockers, kitchen, offices, custodial closets, gym, library, and entrances were good.

  • If there was an area of improvement: There were more than 3+ vents in the classrooms that had heavy dust. Otherwise, the classrooms were good.

South

  • School was very clean.

  • Floors had great shine and were clean.

  • Other areas were also in good condition: Hallways, water fountains, lockers, kitchen, cafeteria, offices, library, custodial closets, gym, and entrances were all good.

  • Very light dust in the library, restroom partitions.

Middle School

  • School was very clean.

  • Also vastly improved restrooms. ALL of them.

  • Other areas were also in good condition: Hallways, water fountains, lockers, kitchen, cafeteria, offices, library, custodial closets, gym, and entrances were all good.

  • Same as the High School. There were 3+ vents in classrooms that had heavy dust. Otherwise, the classrooms were good.

North

  • The school was clean in most areas. However, once a section of the school was substandard. This could be due to staffing issues causing a strain on the staff that is there and not being able to keep up consistently.

  • As stated, one section of the school had several dirty mirrors in restrooms, light dust on shelves in hallways, unvacuumed rugs and carpet in classrooms. Appeared to be several days of neglect.

  • Other sections of the school were much better.

Once again, we are very proud of our staff and the dedication they show to our school district to keep it clean! Keep up the great work.
