Board Retreat

Warsaw R-IX Board Retreat

Last night, July 10th, Warsaw R-IX School District had a board retreat at the Hawthorn Bank community room. The retreat was facilitated by Kevin Daniel from FiredUp Consulting Group. The overall goal was to discuss and align our school district’s goals to our current CSIP. Please use this link to view our current CSIP: https://5il.co/1mw43

During the retreat, we discussed many goals and future plans for the school district. Some of the main topics were:

  • Building a Team

  • Providing Clarity

  • Building Trust

  • Improvement of Facilities through a no tax increase bond possibly in April 2024

  • Goals for Superintendent

  • Goals for the Warsaw Board of Education

Our theme this year is “Take Pride in Our Future!” The Warsaw R-IX School Board is looking forward to the positive direction our school district is headed. Mr. Gemes and Mrs. Deckard are excited to work with the school board to reach the goals and focus on our top five priorities.

  • Safety and Security (Physical/Emotional)

  • Student Success, Teaching and Learning

  • Staffing: Recruiting, Hiring, Compensating, Developing, Retaining

  • Culture and Climate: Partnerships, Relationships, District Unity

  • District Operations: Budget, Communication, Facilities, Technology

Thank you to Hawthorn Bank for hosting us and providing a great space and the donation of portfolios to use in the meeting. Thank you Kevin Daniel for facilitating the meeting and creating a great atmosphere.

Our overall mission: “We Engage, Empower, and Collaborate to Ensure Every Student Has Success Every Day!” We are excited for the opportunities in front of us. The work has already started to make 2023-2024 the best school year.
