The Warsaw R-IX Board of Education met on April 19th to discuss a range of important updates and decisions affecting the school district. Below are the key highlights from the meeting.
The reorganization of the board meeting began with the board certifying the results of the April election: LaMonte Yoder, 412 votes; Charlotte Beck, 298; and Marsha Bergman, 170. Board Secretary/Treasurer Jodi Karr administered the oath of office to Yoder and Beck.
The Warsaw R-IX Board of Education officers for the 2025–26 school year are: President Leslie Grace, Vice President Amie Breshears, Secretary/Treasurer Jodi Karr, and MSBA delegate Amie Breshears.
The regular meeting began with student, staff, and community recognitions. The recipients included Jaxson Deckard– Student Spotlight; Andrea Ferguson– Classified Staff Member of the Month; Jackie Downing– Certified Staff Member of the Month; and the Warsaw Shrine Club– Wildcat Pride Award recipient.
The meeting included two program spotlights: the first by kindergarten, first, and second grade teachers, who shared an overview of their classroom learning strategies and activities; and the second, a review of the district’s Title I Program, covering requirements, federal regulations, student selection criteria, district priorities, Title I team, budget and funding allocations, and program goals.
New business started with a review of the district’s March Revenue and Expenses. The district’s fund 4 budget and plans for various projects this summer were also reviewed.
In other new business, the board approved the substitute salary schedule & CTC driver rate of pay for the 2025 - 2026 school year, the 2025 senior graduates, the 2025 summer school rate of pay for both certified and classified employees, and surplus property from the technology department. The board also approved a $27,991.33 project to service the outdoor athletic bleachers recommended by the district’s insurance company.
During the closed session, eight resignations, fifteen new hires, and the 2025 summer school custodial staff was approved. The board also approved all classified employees work agreements, all classified salaries that are not on the salary schedule and extra duty stipends for the 2025 - 2026 school year. All internal moves were also discussed.

The next Warsaw R-IX Board Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 20th at 6:00 p.m. in the HS/JBMS Library.
