Gavin Steenburgen is an 8th grader at John Boise Middle School (JBMS), and he stood out this month in nominations for our Student of the Month spotlight. Staff members shared high praise for his leadership, positive attitude, and dedication both in and out of the classroom.
Here’s what teachers had to say about him:
“Gavin is polite, helpful, kind, follows directions, and does not allow himself to be distracted from what he is supposed to be doing. He actively participates in class and maintains a positive, mature attitude day in and day out. He is always ready to volunteer if a student or teacher needs help. He is a student with solid goals who has equipped himself with the tools that will make him successful throughout high school and beyond.”
“Gavin is a great kid. He excels in the classroom and in sports. He comes to class everyday prepared to learn with a positive attitude. He is personable and respectful to his teachers and peers. He will engage you in conversation and is always appreciative of the efforts you make for him. Gavin is a GREAT example of the type of student/athlete we want here at Warsaw!”
“Gavin is an outstanding leader both academically and athletically. He actively participates in class and consistently follows classroom expectations. He is respectful and polite to both teachers and peers. Gavin is involved in multiple sports and extracurricular activities while continuing to prioritize his academic success.”
“I do not have Gavin in class this year but when I did he was always hardworking and a stand up student in the classroom. Gavin has a positive demeanor about himself. Always says hello when just passing in the hallway with a friendliness about himself. This is just not me but to all. Very respectful, distinguished young man.”
“Gavin is a leader and sets a good example for his classmates. He is respectful, pays attention during lessons, and completes his work.”
“Gavin is always very respectful to his classmates and teachers. Every morning, he comes in with a positive attitude. Gavin goes out of his way to help others. He goes above and beyond and never has to be asked. Gavin is a great leader and a positive influence on his peers.:
Way to go, Gavin! Thank you for representing Warsaw High School and the Warsaw R-IX School District with leadership, respect, and Wildcat Pride. We are so proud of you!
