The Warsaw R-IX Board of Education met August 20th, first conducting the annual Tax Rate Hearing, followed by the regular board meeting
Tax Rate Hearing
The Board approved the district’s tax rate to remain unchanged, consistent with previous years:
Operating: $2.7500 (state minimum)
Debt: $0.8000
Total: $3.5500
Budget & Financial Updates
In new business, Superintendent Scott Gemes presented the July budget review. Financial information can be found on the district website under Board of Education Financials.
The Board approved tuition for the 2025–26 school year, set at $9,000 per student—an increase of $300 from the prior year. The West Central Cooperative Agreement was tabled pending verification that no changes have been made to the terms.
Other New Business & Board Approvals
Superintendent Gemes also reviewed Continuous School Improvement Plan (CSIP) data with the Board. The Board approved the MEC Conflict of Interest Policy & surplus items of athletic banners.
Personnel Updates
During the closed session, the Board accepted one resignation and approved the hiring of four substitutes, a paraprofessionals, and two other roles.

The next regular meeting of the Warsaw R-IX Board of Education is scheduled for Wednesday, September 17th, at 6:30 p.m. in the HS/JBMS Library.
