Athena Wedlock, a South Elementary student, stood out among nominations for this month’s Student Spotlight. Staff members shared glowing praise for Athena’s kindness, positive attitude, hard work, and the joy she brings to everyone around her.
Here’s what teachers and staff had to say about her:
“Athena is a ray of sunshine. She is always encouraging, and her positive attitude extends to everyone she is near. She is a hard worker and chooses to do her best at everything she does.”
“Athena is the ideal student. She gives a hundred and ten percent on everything she does. That is a great characteristic in a student, but Athena does even more. She accepts everyone as they are. She is the first to invite a lonely student to join in her recess group. She spreads joy around by complimenting fellow students and even teachers. I have never seen Athena without a smile. She is the kind of student a teacher would like to keep and not give up at the end of the year. She will be a bright light to those she encounters in her future, and she will make the world a better place.”
“Athena is an extraordinary young lady! I was thoroughly impressed with the kindness she showed every day at recess! My experience with her at recess was that she never left anyone out and never let anyone play alone! She is also often communicating kind words and offering beautiful compliments to students AND TEACHERS! She is kind EVERY DAY!”
“Athena has such a beautiful gift for brightening everyone’s day just by being around! Everyone needs an Athena in their life! She is always thinking of others before herself, and her sweet morning greetings are something truly special. She has a way of making you feel seen, loved, and appreciated from the moment you see her. Athena, your kind heart and the joy you bring to others are such a beautiful gift! Never stop shining your light!”
“Athena is such a great student. She is genuinely kind to everyone, every day! She is always helpful without expecting anything in return. She greets me every morning and is a student who always brings a smile to my face.”
“Athena is always very respectful in class. She loves to sing and is very enthusiastic about music. She is a joy to have in my class.”
Way to go, Athena! Thank you for representing South Elementary and the Warsaw R-IX School District with kindness, positivity, and Wildcat Pride. We are so proud of you!
